WISD Multiple Grade 9-12 High Schools sign now

We the citizens of the Wylie Independent School District, Wylie, Texas, petition the WISD Board of Trustees to support the creation of multiple grade 9-12 comprehensive high schools, which is currently being referred to as Scenario #2 in Dr. Fullers letter dated September 14, 2007.

As parents, teachers, and citizens of the Wylie ISD we believe that the opportunities provided to our kids by multiple high schools far outweighs any advantages that might be gained from one large high school. We believe that participation in sports and extra-curricular activities is a valuable component of a students success, and that multiple high schools will provide more opportunities to more kids.

We strongly encourage the Wylie ISD Board of Trustees to support the creation of multiple grade 9-12 comprehensive high schools.

I believe the kids are loosing something by not having a 4 year school in one building. Now they will be "freshman" twice. Becasue next year they will still be the new kid on the block.

I feel that division of our city is not the focus at this point, but how the district can provide opportunities to more children academically and athletically. With one high school, I cannot see that being achieved. Eventually, with three high-schools, op
