West Memphis Three Stamp/Semipostal stamp sign now

We, the undersigned, request that the United States Postal Service take note of the tragedy suffered by the West Memphis Three in their wrongful imprisonment and upon their release wish to submit our interest in a stamp or semipostal stamp that signifies a lack of prejudice upon individuality. I understand that you cannot honor a person or persons who are living but the event itself falls under two guidelines that are listed under your criteria.

1. It is a general policy that U.S. postage stamps and stationery primarily will feature American or American-related subjects.

5. Only events, persons, and themes of widespread national appeal and significance will be considered for commemoration. Further, it is an important goal of the stamp program to assure inclusion of the Nations diverse population especially women and minorities in choosing stamp subjects. In furtherance of this goal it is important to identify as possible subjects persons who have overcome great challenges or active discrimination to enter a field or accomplish an aim and thus created opportunities thereafter for others similarly situated. Events, persons or themes of local or regional significance may be recognized by a philatelic or special postal cancellation, which may be arranged through the local postmaster.

--They have suffered injustice, and even a limited edition isn't too much to ask for after all they have suffered. If the stamp/semipostal stamp is released before their trial by some chance, perhaps even offering a percentage to their defense fund is not too much to ask.
