WA State SR 26 WSU sign now

The Cougar Highway Organization was founded by Washington State University Students & Alumni to gain support from fellow Cougars and Citizens in naming Washington State Route SR 26 as the WSU "Cougar" Highway.

By moving to name SR 26 as the WSU "Cougar" Highway the Cougar Highway Organization intends to promote and show appreciation for the many positive economic and social impacts WSU has made. Washington State University was established in 1890 as the Washington Agricultural College and has continued its proud mission to help the advancement of people ever since. From the advancement of human capital, to helping business, to the schools vast research programs, Washington State Universitys positive impacts have helped local communities, our nation and have been seen across the globe.

If "All Roads Lead to Pullman", State Route SR 26 would be the main artery for the majority of student, parent, faculty and the majority of game traffic to WSU. State Route SR 26 is a major West/East route that runs approximately from Vantage/I-90 at the Columbia River and ends at Colfax Washington.

Under Washington State Law RCW 47.01 Chapter 33 any Citizen or Organization may request the naming of a State facility, in this case naming State Route SR 26 as the WSU "Cougar" Highway.

The goal of the Cougar Highway Organization is to provide one central body for the collection of evidence and support for this highway naming project. The evidence being collected for the Highway naming project includes letters of support from WSU Students, Alums,Citizens, town Mayors, Local Chambers and local bodies and signatures of support from petitions such as this.

By signing this petition you support naming Washington State Route SR-26 as the WSU "Cougar" Highway.
