Turn On The Street Lights In Tredegar! sign now

In March of 2009, Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council decided it was necessary to turn of street lights in Tredegar to save money. The towns folk of Tredegar see this as a return to the dark ages, or at least back to the blackouts of WWII. The darkness jeopardizes safety, and gives more opportunity for the criminal element to strike. There are many other ways for BGCBC to save money, turning off street lights of a night is a deplorable attempt at budgetry constraint. We, the residents of Tredegar call on Blaenau Gwent Council to review their policy and turn on the street lights in Tredegar.
