The Post to Homepage 'Bug' sign now

We, the undersigned, support the following petition:

* Symptoms:

1) Songs with high numbers of hearts, hearters and listeners fail to post to the homepage
2) Artist does not level up
3) Low rep point returns

Its not a bug. Says thesixtyone - this is the almighty algorithm at work.

* Cause:

thesixtyone has said, The best work across the site is automatically featured on the homepage by a specially designed algorithm. We won't go into detail of how this algorithm works, but we can say that it's been carefully developed to ensure a fair and level playing field. Would allowing these songs to post to the homepage be unfair?

The songs themselves have few similarities, but honest discussion amongst the artists has revealed a common theme; theyve been hearted by people using different accounts from the same computer. Often the artist has discovered their own song.

Have the artists or their fans broken the rules and inadvertently triggered the wrath of the algorithm? thesixtyone has yet to clarify their position.

One thing we can be sure of: had these artists known that by hearting their own songs they were breaking the rules, they would not have done it.

thesixtyone has a responsibility to the artists who have entrusted their work to them.

So, why werent they warned? And will artists continue to upload their songs onto the site if they feel they are not receiving fair treatment?

* Cure:

We are asking:

1) That any legitimate artists who may have inadvertently broken the rules be forgiven, compensated for points and levels lost and that their songs be given the opportunity to reach the homepage

2) That the rules of the site be made transparent, e.g. a set of community guidelines for artists and listeners

3) That thesixtyone shows more consideration for their artists by openly addressing these and any future concerns they may have

    I've never hearted my own songs but happen to share the flat with one of my listeners from time to time and since she loves my music she hearts it. Is that a crime? And, in any case, I don't think it should be a problem for musicians to heart their own mu

    Addition: All ealry artists on T61 with a Second Life history are disadvangtaged also, and they don't nessecarily First Bump their own stuff, but they do a have the SL-collective bumping all their songs. So there's an 'anti-group' rule at work as well.

    If a song has more than 100 hearts, it can't be considered as just posted.

    Yep, I`m totally agree with this, and I think the management should pay more attentions to the feed backs which are given by the listeners, since lots of listeners mentioned about you guys just let the bugs go such like the way to delete the tagged songs
