The Keep Resident Evil 4 Exclusive To The Nintendo Gamecube sign now

Resident Evil 4 is a highly anticipated game in the Resident Evil series. RE4 will be different from the past Resident Evil titles because it will contain no zombies, a new camera perspective, a brand new storyline, and many more features. Resident Evil 4 has been on the wishlist of Gamecube owners for a very long time. Nintendo also has a pending contact with Capcom to keep the Resident Evil saga on the Nintendo Gamecube.

On Sunday, October 31st, 2004, Capcom shocked the gaming world by announcing that Resident Evil 4 will no longer be exclusive to the Nintendo Gamecube platform. This announcement comes after countless confirmations that RE4 will only appear on the Nintendo Gamecube. Not only does this announcement choke the heart of millions of Nintendo fans, it also destroys the trust gamers have in Capcom.

In Capcoms official press statement, Capcom states:

We have come to this conclusion after deliberating overvarious opinions from stakeholders such as shareholders and investors. At the same time, we also expect that this decision will bring additional revenue base.
Capcom also mentioned how the decision was also deliberated over customer needs and market conditions. (You can find the whole press release here: http://www.capcom.co.jp/ir/english/news/pdf_page/e041101.html )

Capcom has stated the most important reason to bring RE4 to the PS2 is because of the fans that want it; stockholders, and they want to generate more money. This decision is a decision of betrayal. Capcom (again) has promised the Nintendo community that RE4 will remain GCN exclusive. Then, Capcom broke its promise! This simply means Capcom believes in generating more money than staying true to their fanbase. After a few years of believing in hyping in this EXCULSIVE title, is it really fair to be betrayed like this? Is it really fair to be lied to for 2 years?

How would you feel if your friend suddenly broke a promise? Well, that is how millions of Nintendo fans feel right now.

We would like to ask Capcom: Is staying true to your loyal Nintendo fanbase, or generating more cash more important?
