The Holiday Closings sign now

Wal-Mart, Target, Kroger, Kohl's, Safeway, Home Depot, Lowes, and other large retail giants, as well as Simon Malls, are forcing employees, as well as their families, to sacrifice valuable family time for the sake of providing goods and services to shoppers. However, there are certain days of the year that employees of retail chains should be allowed to spend with their families for the purpose of rest and recreation.
With this thought, I submit for your approval the following resolution:
That the retail concerns that I have mentioned close all day on the following holidays:
1. Easter Sunday
2. Mother's Day(2nd. Sunday in May)
3. Memorial Day(last Monday in May)
4. Father's Day(3rd. Sunday in June)
5. Independence Day(July 4th.)
6. Labor Day(1st. Monday in September)
7. Patriot Day(September 11th.)
8. Columbus Day(2nd. Monday in October)
9. Veterans Day(Novembeer 11th.)
10. Thanksgiving Day(4th. Thursday in November)
11. Christmas Day(December 25th.)
12. New Year's Day(Jaunary 1st.)
In case that any of the holidays fall on a Saturday, these aforementioned retailers will remain closed the following day, which is Sunday. And if any of these holidays fall on a Sunday, they will remain closed the next day, which is a Monday.
These retailers shall also pay double the overtime wage which will go to provide for the health and welfare of their employees and their families.
The following concerns are exempt from this:
1. Convenience Stores
2. Gas Stations
3. Ethnic owned businesses(such as supermarkets, resturants, clubs, etc. that cater to different ethnic residents)
4. Pharmacies
5. Bars & Resturants
6. Movie Theaters
7. Amusement Facilities(amusement parks, bowling alleys, minature golf, etc.)
8. Gift Shops
9. Yard Sales
10. Flea Markets
11. Internet Shopping Sites(Web sites owned by the retail companies listed in the initial segment of this petition may remain open 24/7 on all the listed holidays. Retailers running web sites should forewarn customers of deliver changes appropriate to the listed holidays.)
This resolution supercedes all state & local laws and is to be enacted in all 50 United States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virigin Islands, and all U.S. territories & possessions.
