Stop Letting Quitters Prosper at Our Expense sign now

Arena Net,

We, The Undersigned, would like to bring to your attention an issue that we feel requires administrative action. The frequency of players quitting matches in Random Arenas before the match even starts has become intolerable. At certain times it is not at all uncommon to have pre-match quitters on one team or the other 3 out of 4 matches. Most of these offenders are Gladiator Point farming. Knowing that they have a much better chance of making 10 matches in a row with a monk, they will quit match after match until they draw a team with a monk. Others are a little more specific in their reasons for quitting. During low traffic periods, pre-arranged teams, sometimes guild mates, sometimes not, will use voice communication to time the pressing of the 'Enter Mission' button in an attempt to gerrymander the teams. If they are unsuccessful, they simply quit and re-try.

Both of these practices are unfair and extremely frustrating for the rest of the players who are constantly forced to either quit as well and restart, or fight on short-handed. What adds to the frustration is the fact that these tactics work. Actually, they are quite effective and profitable for the offenders, earning them easier Gladiator Points and loftier titles faster than those of us who feel that Random Arenas should retain some randomness.

By signing this petition, The Undersigned are requesting that Arena Net implement a policy of imposing a fine of some amount of Balthazar faction on the first person to quit a match before one minute or longer has expired. We also feel that is would be appropriate for the fine to increase in severity as the number of offenses increases, and a fine of one Gladiator point for every 10 offenses to discourage habitual offenders.

We feel that our names and e-mail addresses, accompanied by the name of a PvE character associated with our respective Guild Wars accounts should be sufficient information to provide you with a cross-reference to confirm that the number of signatures submitted with this petition is genuine and not a few people recording character names associated with random accounts.

Also, in light of Arena Net's ongoing commitment to providing a fair, ethical, and entertaining gaming experience, we would like to express our gratitude in advance for whatever time and effort you should spend in response to this petition.
