Stop False FIR's in India sign now

Indian police has lodged millions of false complaints (FIR's i.e., First Information Reports), against innocent people in return for bribe money. These FIR's are being used to black-mail millions of people for extorting money, sexual abuse by the police, and for gaining political advantage.

The victims of these false FIR's often find themselves in a police lockup, jails, and become a target of public ridicule. These victims' lives get ruined due to the stigma of the false accusations, as well as official action against them by their employers even before the case has been settled in a court of law.

We strongly demand the Indian government to stop all false FIR's, expunge false criminal records of innocent people, release innocent people against whom false FIR's have been lodged from police custody/jails, and enforce habius corpus laws sternly.

The rules, regulations, and the laws of IPC (Indian Penal Code), need to be modified so that the laws that are supposed to protect the public cannot be misused and abused by any government official. Strict and transparent laws need to be enforced to protect the public against false FIR's and consequent police brutality and harrassment.

The anti-dowry laws are a prime example of a well intentioned law being misused and abused by vindictive wives to harrass and unjustly torture the husbands and their families with an ulterior motive of extracting huge amounts of money from the families of the victimized husbands. The police plays a well known role of getting bribe money from both parties after putting the husbands family in jail based simply on a false FIR by the wife.
