Stop Classic Cartoon Cutting sign now

Oh, the good days with the classic cartoons! What did you watch when you were a kid? How about Tom & Jerry? Sylvester & Tweety? Most of all, Bugs Bunny & Looney Toons. There were the classic gags on the show. For example, "Rabbit season and Duck Season." When Daffy Duck is tricked into saying "Duck Season." he is shot at by Elmer Fudd. Of course, his duck bill spins around and ends up on the back of his head. Pure classic. But what did they do to these cartoons these days? They don't even show the part Elmer Fudd shooting at Daffy. Children are going to be a little confused when they see that Daffy's duck bill all of a sudden ended up on the back of his head without anything happening. After seeing these cartoons, as a child, I never got the urge to suddenly go out shooting ducks. Or whatever the case is why they edited this one part out.

Not only is this one cartoon edited, but many other great cartoons. In mostly Tom & Jerry, and in Looney Toons, many things were taken out. Bullets flying through the air, guns, and explosions.

Wile E. being blasted by a row of rifles have been taken out. The scene where Wile E. is in an electric shock when his magnet on fishing wire connects by accident with a power line, was shortened.

Bugs covers Elmer's eyes and they play a game of Guess Who. Elmer's second guess is Carole Lombard. Carole Lombard had died in 1941, which was a mysterious situation. When this cartoon was re-released as a "Blue Ribbon" Merrie Melodie, Carole Lombard had been replaced with Barbara Stanwyck.
I don't even think children know who either women are.

Sylvester being kicked in the face a few times was shortened.

Road Runner pulling the "That's all, Folks!" tag, was deleted. The person watching the show could see the Road Runner for an few seconds while coming down the screen before it faded to black.

When Bugs Bunny disguises himself as a Zulu native, he stretches his face with plates in his mouth and puts rings around his neck. This scene had been deleted on Nickelodeon.

The list goes on, and that is only a few examples.
I hope I have made my point that these are beautifully created cartoons. When I was a child, never had the thought of violence popped into my mind. If you don't want your child watching these cartoons because they are "too violent", TURN IT OFF. Do not ask these networks to cut these cartoons. Networks, do not cut these cartoons. They are CARTOONS, made for kids to watch. These shows are way more friendly than daytime television shows.

I don't know about you, but when I watch Sylvester and Tweety, I want to see someone get wacked over the head by an anvil. These scenes and sayings do not affect our children. I was one of them who grew up on these shows, and obviously, I made it out fine.

What have these television networks done to these cartoons?
I have one thing to ask, and that is not to cut these cartoons. You can thank the following television stations for cutting and deleting scenes from these cartoons:

ABC, WB, CBS, Nickelodeon, and Cartoon Network.

We ask of you to leave these cartoons ALONE!
