Stop BT Providing Browsing Habits Information to Phorm or Other Third Party Companies sign now

BT,
Today the news broke that BT will be selling on browsing habits information to Phorm, a company with links to the spyware industry (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/02/25/phorm_isp_advertising/). Many of your customers are extremely unhappy about this and even call the legality into question as it seems to be in breach of BT's own privacy policy:
"We do not use this information to:
identify individuals visiting our website; or analyse your visits to any other websites (except that we do track you if you go to websites carrying our banner, but we do not identify personal details while we do this); or
track any Internet searches which you may make while on our website. "
http://www2.bt.com/btPortal/application?origin=con_footer.jsp&event=bea.portal.framework.internal.portlet.event&pageid=mb_form&portletid=mb_form&portletns=mb_form&wfevent=Link.mb_form&com.bea.event.type=linkclick&oLDesc=Privacy+Policy&oSiteArea=con.mya&oPJsp=con_footer.jsp&oPt=mb_form&oLName=privacyPolicy&oOJsp=con_footer.jsp&oPg=mb_form&siteArea=con.mya&type=privacy

In light of this we call for BT to make the SHARING AND COLLECTING of browsing habits by opt-in only, and not just the displaying of targetted advertising as seems to now be the case. We also call on BT to provide assurance and garuntee that NO browsing information will be shared with third parties, or even collected, unless the customer has specifically agreed to this.

the selling of private information of any kind should be done by an opt-in basis only - especially since the third party to whom the information is being sold is unknown to many of us. We don not know their own Privacy agreement, and there's no guaruntee
