Skate(in a safe place) or Die! sign now

I'm creating this petition due to the city of Cartersville, Ga. not providing reasonable space to ride a skateboard. Why, I don't know? If anything this causes more trouble for the city. Kids get hurt skating everyday because they don't have a safe place to skate, plus skateboarding gives kids something to do to keep them out of trouble. There used to be somewhere, "World", the old playground at the church downtown. It was all cement/brick, with a 2ft. ledge, and brick walls. Kids even built their own ramps, and brought them their and let other kids skate on them. Injuries were rare there, because kids knew what they couldn't do there, so they didn't do it. I'm asking for a skatepark, or a legitimate space to skate, with reasonable space in downtown Cartersville. It could help the city raise more money too, by charging a small admission fee(ex. $1.50), plus a skateshop would make good money. They could require certain precautions, such as helmets for kids under 13, or anything else they find necessary.

Here is legitimate information of the good skateboarding can do, and the injuries per year, compared to other popular sports:

In A 1998 survey by Transworld Skateboarding Magazine told that 56\% of skaters hold a GPA of 3.0 or above, with 32\% holding a GPA of 3.5 or above. Only 1\% were reported to have a GPA under 2.0.

Is skateboarding safe? Consider this...Statistics from Children's Hospital Boston.

Skateboarding - In 1998, more than 27,500 children and adolescents ages 5 to 14 were treated in hospital emergency rooms for skateboarding-related injuries. Now compare this to...

Basketball - In 1998, nearly 200,000 children and adolescents ages 5 to 14 were treated in hospital emergency rooms for basketball-related injuries. The majority of the injured persons (70 percent) were boys.

Bicycling - In 1998, more than 320,000 children and adolescents ages 5 to 14 were treated in hospital emergency rooms for bicycle-related injuries. In addition, 225 children and adolescents ages 14 and under died in bicycle-related crashes in 1997.

Football - In 1998, more than 159,000 children and adolescents ages 5 to 14 were treated in hospital emergency rooms for football-related injuries.
