Signals - A Space Adventure (1970) / Eolomea (1972) re-release sign now

In 2005, you released three East German Sci-Fi movies which were 'The Silent Star' (1960), 'Eolomea' (1972) and 'In the Dust of the Stars' (1976), which were sold separately and made up the DEFA Sci-Fi Collection.

Many anticipated the release of another core East German Sci-Fi film, 'Signals - A Space Adventure' [Signale - Ein Weltraumabenteuer in German] (1970), directed by Gottfried Kolditz. It would be great if you would consider releasing 'Signals - A Space Adventure' on DVD. Like 'Eolomea', 'Signals' was shot on 70 mm film, but the DVD version of 'Eolomea' utilised a 35 mm print rather than the 70 mm original. The original 70 mm print of 'Signals - A Space Adventure' was shown last year at the 4th Seminar of 70 mm Film in Krnov, Czech Republic. If you plan to release 'Signals - A Space Adventure', do it justice by releasing it in it's 70 mm glory.

Another part of this petition involves the re-release of 'Eolomea'. As previously mentioned, 'Eolomea' too was shot on 70 mm film, but the DVD release of this film didn't utilise it's original 70 mm print. If you are up to the task of releasing 'Signals - A Space Adventure' on DVD for the first time, I'd also request that you re-release 'Eolomea', using it's original 70 mm print. Besides, reviews concerning 'Eolomea', about it's sub-standard 35 mm print were negative. The 70 mm print of 'Eolomea' exists as well because that too was shown at the 4th Seminar of 70 mm Film.

The German Film Archive in Berlin would be a good place to start looking for the original 70 mm prints of 'Signals - A Space Adventure' and 'Eolomea'.

Please give this petition some serious thought, and release both of these movies in their glory.
