Seperate Hoses for Seperate Grades of Gasoline sign now

Dear Legislator,

Many gasoline service stations have changed their pumps to a single nozzle dispensary configuration to dispense several grades of gasoline and each time a person uses the pump the hose is filled with the gasoline that has been chosen to dispense. The manufacturers of motorcycles and some models of cars recommend that the highest grade (91+) be used to fill their vehicles. If the person prior to the person choosing the 91+ grade of gas has chosen the 87 grade, the first bit of gas (approximately .75 gallons) is the 87 grade causing the person paying for the higher grade of gas to be cheated. In the case of the motorcycle where half of a tank of gas could be 1.5 gallons, approximately half of what he gets in gasoline is not what he has paid for.

Therefore, we the undersigned request that both the State of California and the United States of America legislative bodies pass: all machines that dispense gasoline utilize grades specific hoses ; thereby requiring a machine that dispenses 87, 89, and 91 grades of unleaded gasoline to have three dedicated hoses (one hose per grade).
