Scholarship Points sign now

As we know, because of the economy, it is getting harder and harder for students to pay for even state college. There are students being forced to skip college, and because of this, the chance of them getting well-paid jobs is close to impossible. This petition is for those who cant even afford state college. According to the College Board, tuition, fees, room and board during the 2004-2005 school year cost $11,354 at a four-year public institution, and $27,516 at a four-year private university on average. Some top-tier and Ivy League schools are charging more than $40,000 a year. Scholarship Points would be a governmentally run program to help students pay for tuition. The more points you earn, the more money you get in Scholarships for a state university or college. Depending on how hard you work, and what community service you do, you earn points. The more points you earn, the more money you can get for college.
Where is this money coming from, you ask? As we all know our tax money is being wasted on one major cause that simply isnt worth fighting for anymore. If we stop putting our taxes towards a lost cause and start putting it towards this program, not only would it help the economy and government, but it would help the kids who really need it. For those who could possibly afford private college in the past, simply cannot now, and now are being forced to apply for state college. For those who cant afford state college try to apply for student loans, but because of the economic situation, there is no money to lend to these prospective students. State college is in every state, and every student could benefit from this program. Because the government would be involved, there would be school busing to food banks and other areas where you could do this community service.
You may argue, well community service is meant to benefit the community without being bribed or paid. But are these kids really doing community service to benefit the community? Or are they doing it to get a grade in school. I know in my school, that some of the kids that are doing the service, dont really care, they just know that you need forty hours to graduate. Isnt that essentially bribery? We all know that if teenagers grades 9 through 12 worked for such a common goal as getting scholarship money towards college, they would be inclined to do so, as well as helping the community in return.
If the government was willing to be involved, I think that this program could be perfect for those students who are having a hard time in this situation weve been put in.
