Save the Sanctity of Our Channels sign now

To the server administrators of EFNet, ask that one special exception be made for the channel, "#I_am_the_pretty_pretty_princess_and_welcome_to_my_enchanted_castle_please_have_some_bread".

The popularity and ability to gain access to this once popular icon of EFNet is rapidly declining. The reason is because the length of this channel's name now exceeds the channel length variables. We understand the reason behind the diminishing value of this variable which is why we aren't asking that the variable itself be changed.

We also understand that excessively long channel names creates more traffic for the servers which results in increased server costs. Because of this, we propose that in order to prevent valid channels such as this one from being shutdown unnecessarily, a registration service of sort could be setup to allow valid channel operators to continue to operate their channels.

The channel creation date is shown as 2001 currently, but the channel has been around for much longer. However, even if its initial creation was 2001, this is still a considerable amount of time to show the dedication of its members.

In conclusion, our simplest request is that of allowing us permanent access to one of our most sacred channels on EFNet. irc.nac.net is the only server that currently allows anyone access to the channel, and as such, it's made it extremely difficult for anyone to actually stay in the channel and we fear that one day, our access to the channel may be cut off entirely as nac.net is our only beacon of hope in this dark situation.

Please, consider our request
