Save the Central Regional School District's Spring Musical! sign now

Dear Dr. Parlapanides,
Hi this is Kaelyn Passeri. I just heard some upsetting news. I don't know if this is true or not however i felt it was necessary to bring it up. The news is that the Spring musical was just cut at the budget meeting. If this is true we are shocked. The spring musical is not just some silly play that we throw together. We put it months and months of work into them. It is more than just a play. It brings the students closer together and keeps us out of trouble. We love being there and we love to perform. We do not think that this was an appropriate decision. We understand that we may not have all the money in the world but they can not just take this away from us. I personally have never been involved in an activity with so much love, care, excitement and fun as the spring musical and the others agree with me. The spring musical is just as important as any sports trophy or academic achievement. We are pretty sure that the board wants everyone around to know that Central Regional High School is a well rounded school. Taking away the Musical is taking away a factor of the well rounded school. We work so hard and do so much to make sure that our spring musicals are the best that they can be. To take that away from us is like taking away part of ourselves. The spring musicals are our life, they bring tears to our instructors' eyes to see how far we have come, how hard we have worked, and how much passion we put into them. It isn't right for them to just take it away from us. Please understand this and take it into consideration. I bring this up with very much respect. Thank you.

Sincerely, Kaelyn Passeri (incoming Junior) and the Drama club Family

People underestimate the importance of these programs. Especially when a child is from a broken home and this gives them a sense of what family is suppose to feel like.

Cutting music/art/journalism etc... is causing students to lose passion for their education. I understand what state educational budget buts are doing to school districts but keeping students involved in school means keeping them IN school. Drop out right

I am an alumni (class of 2000) and I am upset that this decision was made. If it weren't for drama club and the different plays, musicals, and cabarets we peformed, built, directed, and staged, I would never have found my passion for acting and the dramat
