Save Sewanee sign now

We the undersigned, concerned alumni and friends of the University of the South (Sewanee), recognizing that certain types of prospective students perceive the South negatively, demand that our beloved university move no less than 350 miles north. We believe Carbondale, Illinois or Owensville, Ohio would make suitable locations for education in a cultural-free context. We encourage you to consider these cities as new campus locations.

Alternatively, if such a move proves infeasible, we request that the admissions office adopt the following slogan for all recruiting materials: Sewanee: Were kind of southern, but its not like were in Alabama.
