Pluto has been cancelled!

In much the same way that network executives recently announced the cancellation of Stargate SG-1, leading astronomers have just cancelled the ninth planet. This is something that we, the Pissants for Pluto, cannot allow.

Dictionaries define "pissant" as "an insignificant or contemptible person or thing." That's who we are. We accepted that a long time ago. We are the insignificant; we are the marginalized of society; we are the freaks, losers and nerds; we are the people on the street who are never noticed unless we trip over a curb or bump into a mailbox or accidentally walk through a plate glass window...and then it's all point and laugh, point and laugh, ha ha, what a jerk.

Well, you can mock us all you want, but we won't let you mock Pluto by taking away its status as a planet. Sure, it's a loser planet. It's tiny. It's way out there on the fringe of the solar system. It's got a weird orbit. It probably even smells a little. But that's no reason to turn Pluto into a pissant planet, or should we say NON-planet?

Stargate was cancelled after 10 years, but at least that's a long time for a TV show. Pluto was only discovered in 1930. In astronomical terms, that's like a second and a half. Imagine if Stargate had been cancelled in a second and a half. You'd be mad, wouldn't you? And you should be just as mad about what they're doing to Pluto.

So that's why we're signing this petition.

We -- the insignificant who live on the fringe of society, the weird and the smelly.

The Pissants for Pluto.

Thank you.

P.S. Bring back Stargate!

So who's gonna pay to re-write all of the text books? It's not a moon or an asteroid or a meteor, then what is it? So what if it's orbit intersects with another planet's orbit. picky picky!
