The current political impasse in Nepal is caused by the political leaders of Nepal who favor their own vested interests. The people in general had very high expectations that there would be timely drafting of Constitution by Constituent Assembly and smooth transitioning to peace and stability. However, it's far fetched dream!

The people in Nepal are so frustated that they have started to show reaction to this by showing activities. A peasant in Nepal Mr. Devi Prasad Regmi slapped Jhalanath Khanal, the chairman of CPN (UML), the third largest party in the Constituent Assembly as an expression of frustation to the leaders in general. We understand that slapping was purely done as a political measure not to control the law and order situation.

We, all the citizens of Nepal demand that Mr. Regmi be treated well and his life be saved in the Police Custody and he be released immediately.
