Dear TPTB at Days of Our Lives/NBC,

We, the undersigned, plead with you to hire Sheri Anderson back as Headwriter of Days of Our Lives. DOOL fans have seen our show deteriorate under one headwriter to the next over the last several years. It should come as no surprise that many of us cannot stand to watch anymore. Many of our fellow fans have already given up, which is evident in the dramatic ratings decline. Days of Our Lives has always been known for its ardent, passionate and loyal fanbase, so this decline in viewers is especially troublesome. It is clearly indicative of the decisions being made in regard to the direction of the show; whether it be misguided headwriting decisions (there have clearly been many over the years and recently as well), or the killing off of beloved characters such as John Black. Days has always been known for its supercouples, but it has now killed one of the biggest in John & Marlena and has once again thumbed its nose at a huge fanbase. The other supercouples still left standing have been relegated to backburner status or uninspired letter reading or babysitting. Vets bring in ratings, and while we understand that a show needs to evolve, it is unwise to put characters out to pasture that still have years worth of compelling storyline ahead of them. That is where Sheri Anderson comes in. Actually, she should have come in years ago when the Headwriter position at DOOL was like a game of musical chairs. She could have put an end to that game, as well as kept our beloved show at the top. We beg you to look her way now, as she is the only one we can see that can accomplish what this show needs: Character driven storylines with heart, passion, adventure, intrigue and romance. And most importantly, under Sheri, those storylines would respect the history of not only the characters, but the entire show. We believe Sheri Anderson's talents would allow the show to evolve properly, without ignoring history (or butchering it for that matter). She could maintain balance to the show and give fans what they have been clamoring to see for a long time.

Please, save our show. Bring back viewers and attract new ones. Highlight the supercouples, and create new ones. Honor history and respect the fans. We have asked before, and we are asking again: PLEASE HIRE SHERI ANDERSON AS HEADWRITER, and give her the freedom and authority to save Days.

The show is in dire straits and all the fans have left at this point is hope. Hope that things will get better. We believe in Sheri Anderson. Will you?
