Save Art in New York City sign now

We urge the Commission to retroactively grant the permit to install sculpture on the facade of the building at 24 Bond St, New York. Bond Street is part of the Noho special zoning district which was created to allow artists to live and work in factories that had been abandoned. It is now a thriving community, thanks in large part to the artists living there.

The sculpture was started over ten years ago, before the area was designated an landmark district. The artist, Bruce Williams, is certified by the Department of Cultural Affairs to live and work in this building. His sculpture is a valuable addition to the cultural tradition of the area and helps preserve the tradition of art in New York.

Images of the sculpture are available at http://scultore.wordpress.com

the addition to the facade of 24 Bond St. is to be both admired for it's bold contribution and creative warmth. Countless passerby's stop to view and photograph the work - a tribute to the artists.

Anything that gets under the skin of the establishment is probably a good thing. Put the sculptures on all of the buildings in Noho!

It would be a shame if those sculptures were torn down: they are soulful and enchanting.
