Reverse the Education Cuts sign now

We, the undersigned, wish to express our opposition to your decision to proceed with a range of Education cuts and measures that will have a devastating impact on primary, secondary and third level education in Ireland.

We oppose the governments decision to:

Increase class sizes in primary and secondary schools
Increase Third Level Registration Fees from 900 to 1500
Reduce the Back to Education Allowance
Withdraw Substitute Cover for teachers
Increase the Leaving cert and Junior cert exam fees
Abolish grants for Language Support Teachers and equipment grants for Resource teachers
Cut funding for school books by 7.5 million
Withdraw a large number of supports provided under the Disadvantaged Area Status

We are concerned about these cuts and the additional cuts that have been made to our Education system and we call on the Taoiseach, the Minister of Finance and the Minister for Education to reverse the Education cuts.
