Request to investigate the Telephone Service in BC Canada

In the aftermath of the 2005 labor dispute at the BC telephone company TELUS, we, the BC residents are being exposed to the new business policies by Telus. We, the undersigned request that the Honorable Minister Beverley J. Oda responsible for CRTC conducts a thorough investigation into the business, billing and service practices of Telus and the ethical conduct of this telephone company.

Please sign the petition if you are a BC resident and if you have been experiencing any one of the following problems:

1.Did you receive inflated and incorrect invoices after the labor dispute in 2005?

2.Have you tried to resolve the incorrect statements and provided proof but Telus did not respond?

3.Have you requested detailed statements of services provided but not received anything from Telus?

4.Have you been told that only the Telus computer records are valid proof of services but not your correspondence and the corrected statement you mailed to the company because this information is being stored elsewhere?

5.Where you threatened with disconnection notices if you did not pay the incorrect invoices?

6.Did you pay the inflated incorrect bills only because you did could no longer afford the time to deal with Telus?

7.Was your telephone service disconnected while you were on the modem? Upon your computer redialing in, did you receive a busy signal? Did you have to wait several days for a Telus repair man to come out and repair your service?

8.Where you charged for the repair of your inside phone lines after the above incident?

9.Have you experienced one time rings in the middle of the night, a service generated by Telus to check if you are using the modem?

10.Have you been intercepted during telephone conversations by the Telus surveying computer?

11.Did you experience high power surges in 2005 through the phone lines and had your digital equipment damaged?

12.Because of any of the above, have you chosen another long distance provider or another internet server?

13.Have the dial-in phone numbers of your other server ever been blocked at 4 am in the morning with now estimated time of repair?

14.Have you been harassed by the Telus answering service, known as the voice computer?

We, the undersigned request to have our BC telephone service restored and the company providing this serve returned to a business with ethical values, with a reliable and honest service, and a sincere interest in serving the BC customers.
