Remove Pat Pitt as HMC Board of Director sign now

The following members of the HMC hereby submit this petition to call a special meeting of the homeowners for the purpose of the immediate removal of HMC Board of Director Member-at-Large, Patrick A. Pitt, per section 5.6 of the Bylaws of HMC Management:

"Any Director may be removed with or without cause at a regular or special meeting of the Members called for that purpose by the affirmative vote of a Majority of Votes Cast, and the vacancy created by that removal may then and there be filled by the Members for the balance of the remaining term of the removed Director. Any Director whose removal is proposed may speak to the meeting on that subject."

Mr. Pitt has not been objective in his duties as demonstrated by his recent participation in a petition to remove the Rules Committee Chairman, which was recently dismissed by the majority of the Board as baseless:

"After careful consideration it has been determined that there is simply not sufficient evidence for the Board to take the step of involuntarily removing the Rules Chairman from his position or prevent him from participating in other HMC committee activities." (Board Response to Petition Request for Removal of Rules Committee Chairman)

In addition, during the September 2009 HMC Board meeting, Mr. Pitt further demonstrated a failure to exhibit objectivity in his leadership role with the following motion without vetting the merit of the petition, in the absence of the Rules Committee Chairman:

"In the end Pat Pitt made a motion that the Rules Chairman be asked to voluntarily stand down from the Rules committee with an option of a hearing on the matter and that he be fully apprised of the extent and nature of the petition and that if he fails to accept the voluntary stand down, he then be suspended pending a Board hearing." (HMC Management Board Meeting Minutes, http://herronisland.org/home/members/0909/min_sep09.pdf)

Mr. Pitt has previously demonstrated this partisan behavior where he engaged in forming a Water Task Force, operating independently from the Board and the existing water committee. The result was a PenLight-centric website spearheaded by Mr. Pitt that subsequently required a statement by the Board on the HMC website clarifying that his Task Force was NOT a Board-sanctioned effort.

Mr. Pitt has not performed his Board position without partisan interest and has not upheld his campaign platform that was to ensure that at all times Islanders receive fair, courteous and open treatment. Mr. Pitt must be held accountable for his poor judgment and actions while executing his leadership role and be removed as HMC Board of Director Member-at-Large.
