Remove and Replace Patrick Reusse sign now

Patrick Reusse, a "cantankerous" sports columnist for the StarTribune company recently went too far, referring to the online readers and commentators of the StarTribune Sports section as, "legions of non-ticket buyers with access to computers," who, "have a great time placing the blame for any failures on the Pohlad family for being ''too cheap'' to give the Twins the assets to compete".

The statement is a slanderous attack on the readers of the StarTribune in general, referring to them as a group of working class imbeciles lacking the knowledge and education to understand the inner workings of an advanced business organization (the Minnesota Twins), with a general lack in class, unbefitting of even standing in a Pohlads' shadow.

There is no reason Mr. Reusse should be aloud to continue as a staff member of the StarTribune Company. In a time of economic depression, he has not only attacked the very hard working families who must struggle to even go a baseball game, but the very people who also paid for the stadium through taxes (that will now house a private company, not to mention, his salary.

It is time Mr. Reusse is replaced with a journalist who is not in the pocket of the owners. Mr. Reusse is only a small cog in a large machine, but by replacing those cogs, one by one, a new machine can be created. Hopefully one that does not spew negativity and 1984 rhetoric, but rather gives those it serves a thirst for knowledge, incite, rational thinking and reflection.
Mr. Reusse is incapable of these things and its time to ask him to step down or to remove him through social action.

Tell Reusse's employers and owners that you will not stand behind their product if they continue to support him and let them know you want him fired for slanderous comments against the readers of the StarTribune.
