Protest Against Troop Escalation in Iraq sign now

We, the people of the United States and the international community, protest the Bush administration's proposed "troop surge" in Iraq, and call for immediate, detailed plans for withdrawals of all United States troops and their allies from Iraq to be implemented as soon as logistically possible.

In proposing this "troop surge," the Bush administration and Congressional leaders are acting in defiance of the will of the people of the United States. The 2006 election served as a referendum on the occupation of Iraq, and the message was clear: the occupation must end. Instead, the Bush adminstration is calling for an escalation. We vehemently protest this action as counter to the will of the people of the United States and as a threat to the future security of the United States.

Most importantly, we protest this as an action that will increase the death toll and the rate of deaths in Iraq, both military and civilian.
