(English to follow)

Nous considиre lenvironnement parmi nos prioritйs.

The urban environment of Montreal is a priority for us, for this reason, we support the greening project of the area on the north side of St-Antoine Street, from Atwater to Lucien LAllier Streets. The environmental regeneration of the terrain parallel to the Ville-Marie Highway will be of great benefit to the quality of life of local residents, employees and all others who use this part of Downtown Montreal.

A green edge along the highway and train tracks will also reduce noise and air pollution as well as the dust generated by the constant heavy traffic inflicted upon the residents south of downtown.

We believe the Ministry of Transportation should show civic leadership by being socially and environmentally sensitive in the maintenance and improvement of its land. By finding the best possible solutions through innovative design ideas, the Ministry of Transportation would set an example as a forward thinking public service.

The beautification of this area would help re-establish the link between Downtown and the redeveloping Sud-Ouest Borough. As a gateway to Montreals downtown business district, it should represent our city as a green, welcoming space.
