President Bush should be Impeached sign now

Several years ago the United States government tried to impeach President Clinton. The reason for the impeachment proceedings was perjury. He lied about having sexual relations with an intern and that was considered an impeachable offence. That lie, however, did not cost anyone their life.

President Bush has lied about the reason for the war in Iraq. He used fabricated intelligence to declare war on a country that had nothing to do with the 9/11 attack. The FBI and the CIA and other, credible intelligence agencies could not find any links between Saddam Hussain and the 9/11 attack so a bogus agency was created to fabricate reports of weapons of mass destruction to justify an attack on Iraq.

President Bush was on vacation when reports of hurricane Katrina first came in. There was plenty of time for him to okay the evacuation of Louisiana but he could not be bothered as he was on vacation. He did not okay the order until he returned from vacation the day before the hurricane hit making it impossible for them to evacuate the poor, black population of the state. He ignores the fact that the citizens of Louisiana, mostly poor, black people, are dying of dehydration and starvation. Last year he cut the budget to repair the levees around New Orleans so that a tragedy like Katrina could be prevented.

The war in Iraq has cost hundreds of thousands of lives of US soldiers who volunteered for their service. Gas prices have risen astronomically because of this, and because of oil companies taking advantage of the damage caused by Katrina. Oil companies that the Bush family happens to be heavily invested in. Hundreds if not thousands of people are dead and dying because of hurricane Katrina.

President Bush has sat back and watched as people died in a cause that he knows is wrong and yet he, and his administration, continue to say its a worthy cause. And because it is under the guise of a war on terrorism anyone that is against it is seen as unpatriotic. Armed forces recruitment is down significantly to the point of having to take the state national guards to Iraq, people that should not even be deployed out of the state in which they volunteered to serve.

If lying about sexual relations while in office is an impeachable offense, this should be as well. By all rights, President Bush can be charged with thousands of counts of negligent homicide at the very least. There is no real reason for the war that is going on. There is no reason for most of the country to be living under the poverty level. There is no reason for the devastation caused by Katrina to have reached the level it did. Bush and his administration need to be taken out of the White House and it needs to happen immediately.

If you believe, as many do, that President Bush should be, at the very least, impeached for his crimes against this country, then please sign this petition. It will be sent to as many congressmen as possible. Hopefully it will send a message that what is happening is wrong and should be stopped.
