Preserve the Classic Nintendo Games sign now

Nintendo of America,

We the undersigned are your longtime, loyal fans from the 1980's. As you know by now, the internal batteries in our SNES/NES cartridges are starting to die, rendering them unplayable.

The poorly produced mediocre GBA/DS ports are no longer of interest to us, because they are not near quality of the originals. We also do not have the desire to pay for a product twice.

We are requesting a flash-based, lock-on save cartridge for our older systems. The sales in the GBA ports reflect the desire and interest in these older games. Thus, there are enough consumers to purchase and support such a product. Granted, it probably would cut sales from the GBA ports, but rest assured, the sales generated from this "save cartridge" and consumer satisfaction would compensate for it.

While it is apparent Nintendo is making an attempt to preserve these titles through porting, it is near impossible to port every single SNES/NES game to the handheld units. Meaning, some classics will never get the chance to see the light of day outside the older systems. A lock-on cartridge would save the trouble of having to pick which games get re-released, and which stay on the shelf. This would reduce the complaints of people wanting to see a particular title ported to the GBA.

We hope Nintendo understands our desire to play these classics in their original form. The reduced sound, picture, and button configuration quality of the GBA ports no longer interests us.

We are looking forward to the upcoming Nintendo "revolution" and what it will bring to the vast world of gaming. Please continue to blow us away with these new consoles, but do not forget the classics that make Nintendo a force to be reckoned with.
