Piercings At The Workplace sign now

This is a petition against employees being forced to remove or cover their piercings at their place of work. Piercings do not inhibit an employees ability to do their job, and there is no valid reason why they must be removed. Forcing your employees to do so is discrimination. By telling your employees that 'wearing piercings gives the store a bad image', the employer is re-inforcing a negative and untrue stereotype. This is no different than racism or sexism simply because there is no valid reason for this type of rule.

This is especially ridiculous at a fast food restaurant in Osbourne Village. Let them know that they are wrong, and that YOU, as the customer, don't find piercings offensive or frightening.

I won't eat at a restaurant where my peers are discriminated against in such a manner. I am more likely to appreciate the service of someone with piercings. Also, bandaids are ugly. They imply an open, bleeding wound and can easily fall off and get into t

Consider employee quality before you consider appearance. It's hard enough to find good employees.

Hiring based on appearance is a form of discrimination. Thus, not hiring someone due to body modification is discrimination. Discrimination should not be tolerated in Canada of all places.

As piercings become more common, one must reconsider its policies especially. Besides the fact that piercings have nothing to do with professionalism. Maybe get certain employees to wash the stains on their uniforms (as I've seen many times at ALL fast fo
