Petition to Reg Alcock - Member of Parliament for Winnipeg South sign now

Reg, you boasted that as President of Canada's Treasury Board, you would manage the government's financial, personnel, and administrative responsibilities with an unwavering commitment to fiscal discipline. You stated that you would ensure greater accountability to Parliament. Yet government spending will have grown from approximately $106.5 billion in 1998-1999 to an estimated $150 billion next year. It is growing exponentially.

In the last few weeks the government has embarked upon a multi-billion dollar frenzied spending spree that is unprecedented and alarming in its implications, and you, as President of Treasury Board, are indulging without restraint in this travesty.

Reg, your eager participation in this obscene spending spree is a betrayal of all you purported to stand for, and is ultimately a betrayal of Canadian taxpayers. You have let us down in a profound and deeply disappointing way.

Because of this, we are asking for your resignation. Now!
