Per il diritto allo studio contro i tagli all'Edisu! sign now

Torino, lì 17 Gennaio January 17th 2012Attention ofThe President of Regione PiemonteCota RobertoThe Mayor of TurinFassino PieroThe Minister of Public EducationProfumo FrancescoGiven the decision of the Regional Council to cut the right to education, reducing by about eighteen million euros funds intended for “EDISU”, the regional board responsible for ensuring that right;given that this means excluding seventy percent of the eligible students from access to scholarship in some cases jeopardizing their stay in the city and region;bearing in mind that the presence of students is a cultural, social and economic resource, for the region itself;given that this is the result of a political decision, among other things likely to disqualify the public universities, which are increasingly heading towards the privatization of education through such measures as:• the replacement of grants with student loans;• the allocation of regional funds to private education;• the admission of private companies to the university's Board of DirectorsWE ASKfor the reinstatement of the “Edisu” funding, to cover the total grant requests of the right holders, and the services intended for all universities students.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Vû la decision du conseil de la Région Piemonte de couper les droits d’etudes en reduisant de 18milions d’euros les fonds destinés a l’EDISU, institut régionale qui doit assurer ce droit;En considerant que cette operation signifie l’exclusion aux accés aux bourses d’etudes environ le 70% des l’ayant droit, en compremisant un certain cas leur permanance dans la ville et dans la région et en sachant que la presence des etudiants rappresente une resource culturelle, sociale, et economique pour la région mệmệ;En considerant que cette décision ca sort d’une volonté politique, qui vait à reduire la qualitè de l’université publique en allant vers une privatisation de la formation par des misures comme: la substitution des bourses avec des emprents bancaire; la destination des fonds régionaux à l’instrution privée; access des entreprises pubbliques dans le conseil d’amministration de l’université;Les signateurs suivantsDEMANDENTLa total reintegration des fonds necessaires a l’EDISU pour la couverture des tous les demandes des bourses d’étude des ayants droit, et pour la couverture des services destinées à tous les etudiants unversitaires.Turin, le 17 janvier 2012
