Pause the Federal Election sign now

Dear Sirs,

We recognize your right to campaign vigourously in this election. We the undersigned, however, have made other plans for the Holidays.

Due to the extended nature of this campaign, we request that all candidates agree to a quiet Holiday period during which all Canadians have the time to enjoy family and friends and privately reflect on the events of the year.

We propose that all party leaders take a break from campaigning from 3:00 PM on December 24th, 2005 until 11:59 PM on January 1st, 2006.

We believe this much needed period of rest and reflection will enable both the leaders and the voters to rejuvinate themselves and be better equipped to handle the remainder of the campaign.

Rest assured we will make every effort to give you our undivided attention come January 2nd, 2006.
