N.I.V. End Systematic Injustice and Racism in Judical System sign now

Not In Vain
We are all Directly and Indirectly affected by systematic injustices disproportionately affecting minorities and the poor class. Please sign the petition to support the N.I.V. mission as we lobby to legislature to alleviate these ills:

CRIME IS BIG BUSINESS and its booming at OUR EXPENSE.
Everyday, we are losing youth and hard earned tax dollars to a mass imprisonment experiment that creates criminals, and perpetuates crime instead of addressing the true problem. Mass imprisonment is like digging graves as the resolve a fatal disease outbreak. It is only a reaction, not a prevention. So, who really pays for crime? ... YOU.

When combining the effects of Police brutality, racial profiling, mass incarceration, Homicide and Aids, scientists have described the social status of African Americans as a Demographic Catastrophe and Racial Genocide

The N.I.V. is an organization currently lobbying to legislature with bills to: REFORM SENTENCING, REVIVE REHABILITATION, REDUCE CRIME and INCREASE COMMUNITY SOCIAL WORK.

N.I.V. Mission Statement - To better society by assisting to reduce overcrowding of prisons, reduce recidivism and improve societal productivity by strengthening rehabilitation, combating immoral sentencing laws and implementing a program to provide those who have not been previously afforded fair education or guidance, the opportunity to achieve, so they may affectively rejoin the work force and becoming active, positive assets to their community and society.

Crime Control or Social Control?

Black youth are 60\% more likely to be harassed, profiled and arrested by state police than Caucasians

By 2006, 40\% of black men could expect to spend some time in a state or federal prison.

Since 1980, Illinois built 16 prisons in Illinois

There are more black people in prison today, than there were slaves in the 1800s

There are more black people in prison today, than there are in college.

There are twice as many black men in state and federal prison today as there were men of all races twenty years ago.

There are 30,000 prisoners released each year.

Of that 30,000 34\% are coming home to your Chicago neighborhoods

Due to lack of rehabilitation, those prisoners come home inept, desperate, untrained and more dangerous

Of that 30,000 70\% will re-commit crimes in your neighborhoods and re-enter prison within 3 years

Due to the flux of non-rehabilitated criminals to these societies the deterioration of the community continues.

Children are systematically victimized by the environments: broken families, imprisoned parents, drug-ridden streets, crumbling schools and poor economic distress.

Are Your Children Safe?

Youth become products of an economically distressed environment and are swallowed by a systematic cycle

Youth are not afforded proper schooling, counseling, guidance

Youth enter jail / prison for petty crimes or racial profiled cases and without rehabilitation; thus begins the cycle.

Congress wants to be tough on crime. So they mass incarcerate

Mass incarceration as a solution to crime is comparable to digging more graves as a solution to a fatal disease outbreak

Mass incarceration reacts to crime and worsens it. Mass incarceration has not and does not solve the crime problem.

Yet, federal spending on crime has increased by 521 percent.

Our tax dollars are increasingly spent on: building crime, building prisons, employing guards and booming a commercial industry of Social control, imprisoning the poor and black, distressing neighborhoods and tearing apart families.

Although recently has declined. Since the beginning of mass incarceration in 1975. Crime has OVERALL risen.

Poor and Minorities in prison cannot vote and thus HARSHLY weakens, by over 20\%, the political force of this class and race.

YOU ARE AFFECTED.. If not directly, indirectly.

INCREASE REHABILITATION, REDUCE CRIME, END TRUTH-IN-SENTENCING AND MANDATORY MINIMUMS
