Mount Union College Information Technology Department sign now

We, Mount Union College students, are petitioning the administrative decisions of the Mount Union College Information Technology Department. Each full-time students tuition allocates $125.00 per semester for technology. We believe that our tuition is not being spent wisely to fulfill our technology priorities and concerns.

The following concerns included, but not limited to, have been overlooked and ignored by the Mount Union College IT Department.

Email
Inability to block users and spam
Limited file space
Long periods of down-time
Unreliable to send and receive email

Network
Limited 250mb of space on the H drive
Slow response to web applications
File sharing
Low frequency or lack of wireless capabilities
Constant log offs of instant messaging services (i.e. AIM)
Inability to connect to chat applets
Inability for online gaming (i.e. Yahoo Games, Half-Life, X-Box Live)

Technology
Lack of posted computer hours
Lack of available computer labs during the day
Printers that are jammed, lack toner and/or lack paper
Copiers that are jammed, lack toner and/or lack paper


IT Department
No or slow response to student inquiries
Avoidance of students issues
Refusal to supply network to campus houses
