Dear Ladies and Gentlemen

I am writing to you today to ask that you direct your attention to one of your networks, The Broker Forum. I know this is only 1 of the 14 or so
E-business networks that you have. But, I believe this situation, that you may or may not be aware of demands your attention. You are about to have a major drop in membership in the upcoming months.

I am writing this letter to you with some of the issues that need to be addressed so you dont lose most of your honest and good subscribers. I have had a lot of them sign this petition in order that it might carry more weight than a plethora of letters saying the same thing and being tossed in a pile that will never be read.

I have used Broker Forum since its conception and it has been a valuable tool for me as a buyer in the component market. However, in the past few years it has become a very unstable place to do business. A lot of your data is now a crime waiting to happen, not a resource. Reported self-admitted counterfeiters remain in your system even after numerous complaints from many members. Your unwillingness to enforce Pledge, ISCP, and other tags as made them useless. And it seems, as long as they pay their membership and an extra charge they can have a "tag" next to their company that is supposed to mean that their stock has been checked by Broker Forum to be quality parts and physically in there warehouse. This has been proven, on several occasions, not to be true. This has resulted in some of the members, who have been with Broker Forum for years, losing not only revenue but also some of their good customers.

There are also a major amount of companies that will sign up on The Broker Forum that are fake companies. Some times they will list an address in North America or in Europe but with a quick check you can find that they are in fact in Asia. Or the have an office in North America but all the parts ship from Asia and turn out to be counterfeit or remarked, substandard parts. It is unfortunate that the representatives of Broker Forum do not take the time to check these companies out before letting them post inventory on the site. Some of them will show an extremely large amount of line items in stock when their physical location would never be able to hold the product they claim to have. All it would take to check this is a quick search on the web of their location or a quick search of their domain on a site called WHOIS. (http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/index.jsp)
There have been suggestions of simple solutions, such as the one above that would help clean up the site and get ride of all the criminals and to help enforce the rules fairly. There are steps that must be taken. Like, suppliers should be suspended unless they offer their source of counterfeits and their Inventory file removed until it's resolved. TBF must check individually every new company. They must make serious investigations. For example, check whether the company has a business license or not, if their number of items in stock is plausible etc. Companies have the right to post stock only if they are in business more than 1 year. TBF must ask for and check trade and bank references. (By this what is meant is serious and solid references, not the neighbor to whom they sold a transistor to repair his radio).

The Broker Forum is the most expensive industry search engine out there and this all should be done without an increase in membership fees. We also expect that these changes should be made in a reasonable amount of time. And we, the paying members, should be kept aware of the progress being made. Several of us have made complaints and have been told that changes are taking place but there have been no results. We have been told that changes will be made with in the next few months. This also has not happened. We need to see these changes taking place within a few weeks.

We in the community of electronic distributors are willing to help clean up the site and in turn the industry. But with out your help, The Broker Forum will just be part of the problem and not a tool to help us.

These are just some of the issues that are becoming a deterrent for my colleagues and myself to use the site. And it is not just in Asia, but also all over the world.

If you take a look at a site called Borokerlynx (http://www.brokerlynx.net) you will see other issues that we as members in good standing for the years that it has been in business are having issues with. You will also see comments from people who have left Broker Forum because of these problems.

If you would like any specific information, I would be happy to help you get what you need. I hope that you can influence the people at Broker Forum to implement some changes so that Broker Forum can return to the useful tool it once was.

Thank you for your time and I hope that you will contact me with any questions you may have.

Thank you,

Dan Bogan
