Make the Alberta Oil Sands Carbon-Neutral sign now

The cost of producing a single barrel of oil today is approximately $30-$35. Based on the current price of oil, this means that oil companies make more than $60 off of each barrel of oil produced. Furthermore, it would cost the oil companies approximately $2-$13 per barrel of oil produced to become carbon-neutral. (Source: The CBC- "Crude Awakening," The National, December 12, 2007)

Simply, we, The Undersigned, believe that the big oil companies of Northern Alberta should voluntarily invest a proportion of their profits per barrel of oil (being at between $2-$13 per barrel) towards becoming carbon-neutral.
