Let's Keep Manzone & Strong in "The Drink" sign now

Change is inevitable. Change is constant. -- Benjamin Disraeli

Change can be a great thing, if it means to advance opportunity and add excitement to our lives. Changes are being made to GUVERNMENT nightclub's music format. Part of this change means that Joe Manzone and Fab Strong AKA "Manzone & Strong are being moved from their weekly residency in "The Drink into "The Gallery". The Drink has been home to Manzone & Strong for many years, and regular patrons rely on these two performers to be entertained while at GUVERNMENT.

While this change of venue might not seem major, it does impact the performers in many ways:
The smaller dance space leaves less room to mingle and less room for patrons.
The less efficient sound system defeats the efforts these DJs put into playing their music.
The existing smaller DJ booth barely fits these 2 men, leaving them no room to perform.
The poor ventilation (no nitro cooling) creates a very hot, sweaty, uncomfortable experience.
The lack of access for smokers means people will have to leave the space to smoke.
The minimal bathrooms mean frustrated clubbers will not stay in The Gallery all night.
The poor lighting system will not compliment the music and performance being presented.

Performers such as these DJ's thrive on large, open, well ventilated space to effectively entertain club goers.
Manzone & Strong's regular fans alone can fill The Gallery every week. This leaves absolutely no opportunity for these entertainers to expand their fan base.
The Gallery as a space doesnt convey the image of what type of party Manzone & Strong promote at GUVERNMENT. The highly stylized, more mature, established clientele of The Drink will not feel welcome into The Gallerys hot, cramped, low ceiling environment.

I would like your support in presenting this petition to the owner(s) and promoter(s) of the GUVERNMENT nightclub. Our goal is to collectively prove this change is not an opportunity for advancement and will only serve to harm the Toronto House music scene, Manzone & Strong, GUVERNMENT night club and its patrons. While this may seem like a lofty goal, Id like to remind everyone that support starts with one person, and goals are achieved through collective efforts.
While change might be inevitable, it can also be welcomed. Lets work together to make a positive change.
