Leave the Planet sign now

Ever get fed up with all of humanity? There just seems to be fewer and fewer people I can get along amicably with, and fewer places that are anything approaching hospitable. I'm going to use my first blog to air all my grievances with the human race, and the planet in general.

Gripe #1: People take the dumbest, silliest things seriously.

Example: Religion. People murder, commit suicide, believe in and argue over things contrary to all available evidence. If you're going to believe in something that cant be proven or disproven, it doesn't make too much sense in battling over whose hypothetical theory is correct. I'm sick of hearing/discussing everything from jihadists to intelligent design.

Example: Relationships. Why do these even exist? Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Love. Love is great. But have you ever met a person who is so wound up in his or her significant other that they lose sight of anything else that might be worthwhile in their life? It's an anachronistic meme, and we need to get rid of it.

Example: Life & Death. Death is coming, ain't no stopping it. What's the difference between two hours from now and two hundred years from now? In the face of eternity? Then I hear people say "You must think life is a joke," as though it were a BAD thing. Life IS a joke, and the funniest part is all these people, who could be self aware, scrambling around in an anxious blur or looking for "meaning." I stopped looking for meanings and started seeing punch lines. The piddling little shit is a lot easier to deal with that way.

Gripe #2: The extent to which this planet is run inefficiently.

Example: In the United States of America, five percent of the population own ninety-five percent of everything. Currently, we are occupying two countries and trying to recover from several natural disasters, and in the meantime the administration tries to cut taxes. The rich get richer and the poor get screwed. (no comment on the wars, or the disasters, just on the general mishandling of fiscal and social matters) And this is supposed to be the richest country in the world. What bothers me is that it is.

Gripe #3: Nature is in revolt.

Example: Do I even need an example? Hurricanes, earthquakes, typhoons, tsunamis. It's an extremely hostile planet, and getting worse every year. I'll be laughing my ass off when California slides into the ocean, the eastern coast gets flooded all the way to the midwest, and Australia, Japan, and Malaysia joins Mu at the bottom of the Pacific.

Example: Virtually unchecked viral and bacteriological outbreak. Anyone in a position to do something about it is more concerned with profit than the general well-being of his or her own species.

Conclusion:

Continued participation with humanity on the planet Earth has ceased to be a worthwhile endeavor, as far as I am concerned. I propose working towards a vastly expanded space exploration program which should include a planet seeding ship capable of traveling through interstellar space, and at least 3 orbital cities.
