Landmark Williamsburg's Domino Sugar Refinery sign now

To Mayor Michael Bloomberg:

The Domino Sugar Refinery is among the most significant waterfront industrial sites in New York City. Domino represents over 150 years of Williamsburgs industrial past. It is the physical embodiment of one of the industries that made Brooklyn great.

The Domino site is about to be rezoned for residential use. I support the preservation of the historic Domino refinery buildings by designating them as official New York City Landmarks. The refinery and related structures - all of which date to 1884 - are architectural gems. The Domino sign is a Williamsburg icon in its own right.

The Domino site is a wonderful opportunity for historic preservation, new development and affordable housing to work together to create a better New York. I hope that you will help to make that happen.

Thank you.
