Keep the Current 16 game NFL Schedule sign now

I, as a dedicated fan of the National Football League, am strongly opposed to any potential changes to the current sixteen (16) game regular season schedule, As a fan, a large part of the enjoyment of your version of the sport of football comes from following the seasons and careers of the many talented athletes that compose league and also the teams we all follow. By increasing the amount of games that these players must withstand, I believe you are endangering the very thing that brings me to spend my time and money following your sport.

Not only do I believe that the proposed increase of two regular season games would cause a major increase in injuries overall (players more worn down and also weather factors), but this increase in injury would do great harm to the quality of the game, and reduce the impact of the playoffs, as many starting players would be sidelined and unable to represent their fans. This would upset me as a fan, and would cause me to be less inclined to spend as much time and or money following your sport than I do currently.


As a potential compromise, please consider adding an additional bye week but keeping the current 16 game schedule. This would allow the league to run on one addition week, while also providing much needed rest and repair for players along the way. If player safety is actually something that the NFL is interested in, surely this would help prove that, as well as keeping your dedicated fans on board.

As fans of the NFL, and signers of this petition, we urge you to seriously reconsider this unfortunate plan to add more regular season games.
