Keep Quigley's for the Students sign now

Chipotle may serve delicious burritos, but the recent decision to open the latest branch in Quigley's Pharmacy on campus is more than a little disappointing. One of a few buildings on campus with a lot of personality, We feel that Quigley's would better serve the students and the University as an informal student-run cafe and art space. It's location and atmosphere would create a highly visible and desperately needed meeting point for members of GW as well as the Foggy Bottom community, and maybe even help foster the actual goal of a university, namely to create a community of scholars and students actively working together and learning from one another. Whether hosting open mics, film screenings, other events or simply as a space for informal get togethers, the possibilities for the building are incredibly broad and benefit not only the students, but also the integrity of the university.

Might be a reason to come back to school there. I left because I hated it so much.

A student-run space is a brilliant idea. I truly want to believe that my school is as interested in creating an academic community as it is in making dough.

An informal, student run location would really help foster a sense of community at GW.
