Keep Den Watts in Eastenders sign now

We, the undersigned, believe that the character of Den Watts should not be axed from Eastenders next year. Den Watts is the greatest character in Eastenders, and is probably the most famous soap character of all time. He has been at the centre of some of the shows biggest, best and most exciting storylines, such as: The Christmas Day divorce, the torching of the Dagmar bar, the Michelle Fowler affair, his return from the dead, setting up Phil Mitchell for armed robbery, and now is part of a great ensemble including his son Dennis, Dot Branning, and his wife Chrissie. There is no other character as consistently interesting, devious, evil, charming and likeable as Dirty Den, and his removal now would be a disastrous decision, forced upon the EE producers by tabloid pressure. All of the best storylines over the past year have had Den in the middle: His comeback, his clash with Phil, his affair with Kate, splitting up Sharon and Dennis and especially the two-handers with Dot Cotton and Chrissie. He's the king of the Vic, king of the square and king of the show, and viewers do not want to see him leave!

Come on Kathleen Hutchison - Don't axe Eastenders' best-ever character!

Too soon after too long a wait for his return to say anything but 'we, the eastenders writers have lost the plot!' If you had not axed him the public would probably forgotton the finger incident by now. As it is, it seems like a very 'cut your nose to spi

Den Watts cannot leave! It's a stupid idea to axe this character, he is the most interesting and diverse character the soaps have ever seen. How can you justify keeping Juley, Gus and Dereck, and axeing Den! Please reconsider Kathleen and listen to what t

Leslie Grantham is a talented actor, and the character of Den Watts is extremely diverse and exciting to watch. His chr has so many possibilities for future story lines and the family that he is in a great family unit. The chemistry between Den and Chriss

During Dirty Den's two month abscence the show nearly died - the instant he returned it became funny, exciting and great. Dirty Den is a witty dude. To kill him off would be an act of treason. I think it is ludicrous also that the BBC is killed off a grea

This is really bad news if Den Watts is really leaving. He could have been used for some really gritty storylines, instead he has been wasted due to bad scripts and ridiculous plots. There have been some great scenes with him and dennis, den and chrissie

Den is a legend in the show's history, and despite recent events he deserves better then to be rushed out of the show never to be seen again. I'm all for modernising the show, but not at the unnecessary expense of the show's heritage. At least leave the d
