Internet Search Engine Democratic Privacy and Accessibility Legislation in the United Nations sign now

We the people, of the democratic nations of the world, demand that there be legislation implemented by the United Nations, the European Union and the United States of America to govern the practices, policies and procedures of all search engine providers on the internet based on the following unalienable truths:

1. The Internet is a free democratic space that has become an undeniable essential part of humanity and part of the basic survival of an individual in a democratic society, both for a social and political standpoint as well as an economic standpoint.

2. The Internet is in principle based on the idea of a democratic platform. This is an idea held by the initial developers, users and consumers of the Internet, and an idea that has been upheld throughout the development of the internet as to establish that this is no longer an idea, but an ideal of humanity.

3. Corporations, such as Google, have used the free space of the Internet, that was not developed by said corporations, to manipulate the Internet into a manufactured and virtual space, which could be seen as a governing body that is called the World Wide Web.

4. The use of the term "internet architecture" indicates that developers and managers, who manifest, design and build this space, understand said space to be a conceptual place that can be compared to a country, or city, and has been developed as such, to become beyond conceptual but a real space.

5. All cities and countries that are democratic have governing bodies, that govern them for the sake of insuring democracy is upheld, such as the Supreme Court of the United States.

6. Because these spaces are navigated by the search engines, they are drawing maps and building virtual roads and virtual meeting places (buildings), which are all practices that are regulated and by governing bodies in democracies to ensure fair practice.

Our concern, as democratic citizens, is that illegal practices such as: user monitoring, record keeping, surveillance, censorship, and changing of facts, or biased positioning of information, be implemented by corporations, such as Google, without a non-bias governing body to establish that they are ruled by laws and governed by democratic standards that serve the democratic community responsibly.

Therefore, we humbly beseech you to implement a world-governing body, that includes popular democracy (i.e. popular vote) and responsible reporting to the public, of laws and policies that govern search engine providers to ensure their practices are democratic.
