Improvement of the 'JAWS' attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood sign now

To whom it might concern in charge of theme park development at Universal studios,

As a fan of the motion picture 'JAWS', we implore Universal studios to consider revamping and improving the 'JAWS' attraction experience in line with what has been done to enhance other more recent attractions on the backlot.

Understanding the 'JAWS' attraction helped formed the cornerstone of what has made the theme park a destination for tourists and movie enthusiasts worldwide, we the fans were dismayed that the legendary prop boats ORCA as well as the Ben Gardner boat more recently were removed and possibly destroyed. Even Steven Spielberg has expressed frustration about this as relayed in a recent documentary.

Accordingly, we believe Universal owes a small debt of gratitude to the legend that is 'JAWS' and to the fans that have made it the blockbuster it is by upgrading and improving the attraction with modern technology and returning the ORCA as well as other props to the cove which reflect accurate scenes and details from the film rather than a generic take on a theme.

As a result of the slow and degraded changes that have occurred to the attraction over the last several years we have decided to not visit the park as often as we might have in the past if for no other reason the 'JAWS' attraction no longer holds the same interest for us as it did in its former state prior to 1996. Searching the net one can find an array of enthusiast sites that cater to the nostalgic aspects of 'JAWS' which only helps underline how much fans like us care about the accuracy.

One would hope Universal Studios would want to get it right as much as we do. Please don't let this attraction whither into something less important than it should be. We implore Universal to re-invest some of the profits made from this film over the years and bring back the ORCA. Understandably, this particular vessel holds significant historical value for both the films archeological record, and for the millions of fans worldwide that recognize it's significant place and role in the history of film. Whereas, an extensive effort has been made to preserve other film artifacts such as the many multifarious vehicles and props from other important film works, we feel that neglect and disregard for the care of this boat has led to it's possible demise since no definitive conclusion to it's whereabouts has been documented as of yet.

Therefore, we (the fans) hereby request that Universal Studios Hollywood, commission Operation Orca, to, replicate an accurate, seaworthy, Orca to be displayed on the USH back-lot and/or utilized for Universal/NBC promotional tie-in events related to the film JAWS. This, for fans worldwide and future generations to enjoy. In addition, to consider adding something more to enhance the attraction with an interactive exhibit allowing for guests to more readily enjoy the thrill. We believe this film is more relevant and iconic than ever before as should the attraction be.

The following websites help underline our interest and help clarify our goals and dreams for the future of the 'JAWS' attraction:
