Imam Jamil A. Al-Amin Should be Released on Bond.
He is Innocent Until Proven Guilty in a Court of Law.

Dear Attorney General:

It is a known fact that a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Why is this right not afforded to Imam Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin, a social reformer wrongfully accused and charged with murder? He is awaiting trial while being imprisoned in Georgia's Fulton County Jail for almost two years, due to the denial of his constitutional right to a presumption of innocence and bond, even though evidence points to his innocence!

We, the undersigned, on behalf of seven million American Muslims, urge you to order the release, on bond, of Imam Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin because it is his constitutional right and the following facts:

1. The hand written confession of Otis Jackson to the March 13, 2000 shootout, which is in the hands of the investigators of the Las Vegas (NV) Police Department, says that Otis Jackson was the sole shooter of the two Fulton County Sheriffs: Deputy Ricky Kinchen, who was killed, and Sheriff Aldranson English, who survived.

2. At the time of the shooting, Otis Jackson - now held in a maximum security in Las Vegas - was in Atlanta, GA when and where the shooting took place.

3. Sheriff Aldranson English who "identified" Imam Jamil A. Al-Amin as the man who shot Kinchen dead when the two deputies were trying to arrest him on a warrant, insisted that the gunman's eyes were gray. Imam Jamil's eyes are dark brown - a very strong likelihood of misidentification.

4. Moreover, before dying, Kinchen told fellow deputies that he had shot his assailant. Imam Jamil was uninjured when arrested on March 20, 2000 in Lowndes County, AL.

5. In the past, Imam Jamil was falsely accused of driving a stolen car, which turned out to be his and not stolen. He was also accused of impersonating a police officer, while in fact the badge he was carrying was given to him honorably by the City of Atlanta.

Dear Attorney General, for these reasons we urge you to order the release from jail, on bond, of Imam Jamil A. Al-Amin. He is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, not in the press by the police before the court of world opinion, even before he was charged with any crime.

Anxiously awaiting your reply.

Sincerely,

Anyone involved in terrorism, let them rot. Islam is a peaceful religion, it requires that those that betray it be punished. This idiot obviously isn't representing Islam so let him ROT. Don't make the foolish mistake of letting him out.
