Honor Bob Woolmer, the legendary coach of Pakistan sign now

We, the Pakistan Cricket fans demand the Pakistan Cricket Board to honor the legendary coach of our cricket team in the greatest possible way. His dedication was such that it costed him his life. This man stuck with us through thick n thin and responded to all the pressure situations with class. He was the only coach in Pakistan history to have such an open relationship with the passionate fans all around the world. His site www.bobwoolmer.com and its QA section speaks highly of his personality; he would get bombarded with criticism yet he would write a pleasant one liner to make us feel better.

Bob did make a difference on the cricket field. We won 37 of the 69 ODIs that he coached (3 non results) and out of the 10 test series, we won four, lost three and drew three. We enjoyed one of our best ICC rankings under his coaching as well. He took the challenge of coaching Pakistan cricket team and brought the team together. He was friendly with all of his students. Afridi considers him the father figure of the team, while Akhtar couldn't even find words to express his feelings except to admit that he was very sad on his demise and that he learned a lot from him.

We are sure that Bob's cricketing achievements are quite enough to get him the legendary status, but he won the hearts of all the Pakistani fans by mingling in our culture. His "Gurrum Chai do chini!" response to Kamran Abbasi just sums up how willing he was to get close to his students, living up to the definition of a coach.

The loss to Ireland was a stunner, but the loss of Bob Woolmer was the one that brought tears to our eyes. He gave his heart out for Pakistan cricket, unfortunately it wasn't enough for us to advance. We will have many more world cups to win, but I am afraid we can never have another Bob Woolmer, the guy who loved his job and tried to improve the Pak Cricket system, atleast the team management side of it; he did achieve a lot in that aspect.

To honor Sir Bob Woolmer, we the Pakistan Cricket fans demand the Pakistan Cricket Board to name a stadium after his name or do something equally honorable. We have hurt Bob by our critisism many times. This is the time to show how loving of a nation we are deep inside and how we can honor the people who provide us such services. Bob Woolmer will live forever in our hearts. Bob, we hope you can read this and have a witty one liner as a response. We will be visiting your QA section at http://wwww.bobwoolmer.com/qa.aspx when we miss you !
