Hold Small Businesses Accountable for Discrimination and Sexual Harassment too sign now

We believe that that Title VII of the anti-discrimination law, which states that small businesses are held exempt from the various anti-discrimination and sexual harassment laws if they have less than 15 employees should be eradicated and these businesses should be held accountable for any discrimination(s) as well. After all, they are a professional business environment no matter how small they may be, and when working in a business environment, everyone should be able to feel comfortable no matter WHAT size the business is. An example of how this law has negatively effected the public can be found on a website called FindLaw at http://writ.lp.findlaw.com/grossman/20060110.html which states a case where a woman tried to file a sexual harrassment suit against her employer only to be denied her claim due to the fact that her employer had less than 15 people working for him! This should not be an excuse to justify sexual harassment! This petition has been created to show just how many people believe that small businesses should be held just as accountable for their actions as bigger businesses. Too many small business owners are getting away with various forms of discrimination and harrassment because they KNOW they can get away with it. Well, it's time we put a stop to their being ABLE to get away with it, and do something about it! we would like to abolish the Title VII law and give small business employees the rights they deserve! To be treated equally and fairly in the workplace. Once this law is changed it will open up a whole world of rights for other people as well. This will affect plaintiffs suing under other federal anti-discrimination laws such as: the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and the Family and Medical Leave Act. All of these apply only to employers with a certain number of employees.

This way the people who work in the small businesses will be able to have a voice in the courtroom and be able to protect themselves against this kind of behavior. It will also help minorities and/or people of older or younger years get and or keep their jobs as it will also prevent small businesses against discriminating against age, race, sex, or sexual preference etc. We believe the small businesses should be held accountable for their actions too, PLEASE sign this petition and help make a difference in this country's community!
