Helping in Haiti

Supplies and Aid are landlocked at the Airport and soon things are going to go from bad to worse. I do not know why we are not doing airdrops of water by parachute around the city. But we are NOT in charge and we are not there.

But there is something that can be done if we can get this IMPORTANT information out:

First Water!

Fresh water can be made from sea water, using only the heat from the sun and sheets of plastic and any plastic pipe that can be found or even buckets or cans.

First: Dig trenches, 3-foot wide, 3-foot deep at a shallow grade, (2\% to 3\%) drop, 100 feet long.
Second: Line the very bottom and center of the trench, with open containers, cans, buckets, containers, anything that will catch and trap water. Line them up,, end to end, one container next to the other and centered in the trench.

Third: Cover the trench with plastic sheeting, slightly loose so that it sags in the middle. Hold the plastic in place with stones and rubble along each edge. WELL secured.

Forth: In the center of the plastic place lengths of pipe heavy bar so that the plastic forms a V shape running the length of the trench. See if you can target the center point of the V to be just above the rows of open containers below.

Fifth: Set up a chain of people bring up ocean water to the edges of the trenches,, and soak the soils on BOTH sides with Seawater. Let the Saltwater soak in and move to other areas along the trenches and add seawater there, Back and Forth, Back and Forth soaking the soils at the sides of the trenches.

The saltwater in the soils at the sides of the trenches will evaporate under the plastic sheeting, warmed by the sun, and will condense on the cooler plastic above. As the droplets congregate and gather together they will run downwards until they reach the bottom of the V shape,,, and FRESH WATER will drop off into the open buckets, containers and cans lined up in the Center-Bottom of the trench.

Each 100-foot long trench will manufacture hundreds of gallons of Fresh Water from Seawater each day. Harvest the water by rolling back the plastic and retrieving the containers below filled with fresh water. Harvest the fresh water early evening and early morning.

Add new seawater along the sides of the trenches,, every day. Keep the bottom of the trench moist with seawater,, but not muddy.

This is NO DIFFERENT than fog on your mirrors when you take a hot shower in a cool bathroom. Just like you could collect that mist from your mirror with a sponge, and sip it from the sponge, this works the same way.

The only difference is we are starting with SALT WATER, ocean water, and making fresh water, or sweet water. Just that this trench-method is on a larger scale.

PLEASE get this information out to anyone in a position of Authority.

This trench solar distillery will work just as well if 5-foot long, 10-foot long, 50-foot long or 1,000-foot long, you will just get more water, the larger the size.

Thank you for any and all help you can offer!

Just a 2-foot round hole with plastic cover, will make about a gallon of fresh water per day, when done this way.

A share of the fresh water can be offered BACK to children that are willing to bring up ocean water from the sea. The children can make this work, and liberate the adults to do the digging and rescuing of trapped survivors.

They NEED water in Haiti. WATER,, WATER,, WATER,,, pure and fresh WATER!

Look it is just that we send the HOW to them. They will Do the DO!

If we can get the people digging even 2-foot holes and covering them with plastic sheets to make tiny solar distilleries, this could replace 200 airplanes a day flying in water.

Then the planes could be used for food, medical supplies, tools and other things.

Thousands of the 2-foot holes could be dug near the beach and children organized to replenish them with ocean water.

Maybe the Trenching idea is to grand or needs time to think about,, BUT a bunch of 2-foot holes is easy!

Can we somehow spread these instructions around?
If people get organized, they could each tend 20 or 30 of the smaller holes, making many gallons of fresh water a day.
One bottle of water is selling for $5 on the street. People can be making $200 or $300 a day, to help their family, to later buy food, or buy gasoline, and at the same time as they are helping Haiti.

Please give this valuable information the attention it needs to save lives!!

Thank you for doing all you can to help!
